How to Make your R/C Car Faster

First Of All. the 2 importat thing you need is Money and R/C Car
  1. Step 1

try different fuels, the higher percent fuel the faster it will go but it will also tear up your engine faster.(i don't like to go above 40 percent) with an electric car but lipo batteries and remember always discharge your lipo batteries that is very important to remember, because if you don't they will build up a memory and wont last a long when you first bought them

  2. Step 2

tires, find the right kind of tires for your truck/car, dirt and gravel try step pins tires, for the street try foams experiment with different tires. and for monster trucks bigger tires can slow you down because of all the weight and you have to turn a bigger tire.

  3. Step 3

buy a tuned pipe or change the engine is the best way to get better performance out of your r/c car. with tuned pipes the shorter the pipe makes more torque the longer the pipe more top speed.

  4. Step 4

make sure your car is not running to lean(less fuel more air) or to rich(to much fuel less air). Making your car run leaner will help it go faster but also can make it run hotter so find your cars sweet spot.

  5. Step 5

put lighter parts on your car. graphite parts an carbon fiber parts are lighter and tougher so they can last longer if you hit something at faster speeds.

It's an engineering marvel that RC cars being so small can notch top speeds. Ever wondered what goes inside this tinny machine that makes them go faster.Every time the car is accelerated or it brakes or you drift the RC car, there is a complex mechanism that supports the car. But if you are interested in learning how you can make your RC car go faster then read on.

A lot of times you would have seen in the remote controlled car races that there are some cars which go faster than the others. These cars can go faster because of a simple tweak called shims, which placed between the rear hub and axle pin of the car, since there is a visible gap between them.

Shim is a thin metal piece or it can be made out of wood also. Its placed in your RC car parts to prevent is from toppling when it goes over rough roads like stones etc. It greatly reduces your car's sloppiness.

You first need to disassemble the parts of your RC car and reassemble it starting from the rear hub and place shim next to it, followed by the bearing. It should be ensured that the shim you intend to use is of the same dimension as that of the ball bearing to make sure it works properly. So how does it work? It reduces the gap between the axle pin and the bearing and hence makes your RC car go faster.

The only flaw with using this method is the size of the shim, if it is not similar to the bearing, the tyres of your RC car may tend to bind. To prevent this problem from getting in your way, use the shim that is cut to proper size and dimensions, so that you don't end up using too much shim on your RC car bearing.
